Hong Kong beat Alab Pilipinas led by Standhardinger

Defending ABL Champions Hong Kong Eastern defeated Tanduay Alab Pilipinas in their opening game of the 2017-2018 ASEAN Basketball League Season held at the Mall of Asia Arena. Fil-German Christian Standhardinger who plays as a heritage import for Hong Kong led the team with 26 points and also with 14 rebounds and 4 assists including 2 crucial plays in the end game.

Import Reggie Okosa led Alab Pilipinas with 28 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks while Bobby Ray Parks led all local scorers with 17 points (16 in the second half). Import Ivan Johnson finished with 17 points but fouled out in the final quarter. Josh Urbiztondo had 14 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists for Alab.

HK import and current World Import MVP Marcus Elliott with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists while current heritage import MVP Tyler Lamb contributed 23 points, 3 assists and 4 steals.
